Background on Zachariah Matthews
BPharm, BSc (Hons), PharmD
Zachariah completed his Pharmacy and Science degree (with Honours in Pharmacology) in South Africa and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in the US. He has worked in hospital pharmacy ever since arriving in Australia in 1990, spent 12 years at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and is currently Director of Pharmacy, Canterbury Hospital. Zachariah is currently a member representing the Therapeutic Advisory Group (TAG) on the NSW Health Expert Group to identify strategies for controlling and preventing multi-resistant organisms (MROs). He has lectured to post-graduate pharmacy students at the University of Sydney on topics ranging from drug information to antibiotics.
